The Little Dinghy

written and illustrated by Esphyr Slobodkina

Published in 1958 by Abelard-Schuman

SYNOPSIS: During a storm, a dinghy known as Little Prue becomes separated from its fishing boat and captain. It washes ashore near the summer home of a young boy named Paul, who had been wishing for a boat of his own. But when Paul reads in the paper that a local fishing boat captain lost his dinghy, Paul must make a decision about whether to return the little dinghy to its rightful owner or to keep it for himself.
